Baneblade WIP

Normally I like do some kind of mod to something like this, but I haven't been able to think of anything. Also for some reason the scheme I'm putting on this Baneblade is reminding me of 80's G.I. Joe toys. -Wyrd

A Gaming Resource: Kickstarter.com

Many of you are likely already aware of this interesting and largely successful web site known as Kickstarter. For those that aren't, it is a website, that allows people or companies to ask for the general internet populous to support their project (be it a physical product, a web site, a media production etc) with real cash monies, paid for through Amazon's website.

Why is it a gaming resource? Well, they have sections specifically for board games, card games, video games, books etc. Recently, I backed a project by Steve Jackson games—whom many will recognize as the creator of the Munchkin line of card games, among other things—to bring the strategy game OGRE back out of retirement (Link). At the time of writing this, the project has 16 days to go. There are many support levels, which earn you everything from a basic thank you, to copies of the game and extras, to an expensive $4500 custom made game. Other gaming related things that I have seen on here recently include custom made dice hand crafted out of rare or antique wood (Link), hand made counters (Link), a new Shadowrun video game (Link), multiple zombie-themed boardgames to include Zombicide and Zpocalypse, RPG updates and re-releases (Myth and Magic Players guide 2nd Ed Revived and Update), even terrain (Modest Magics Modular Terrain), or specialized gaming tables —in this case for Settlers of Catan (Link). For those interested in books and comics, each of those has its own category as well.

In short, for those interested in seeing what is coming out—and in some cases, getting a chance at an advance copy, Kickstarter is one of the ideal ways to go, you can support based off of your budget, pick your projects—and if the goal isn't met—you don't pay. It is also a way to help some of the indie games that might otherwise never see the light of day.

Adepticon 2012 40k Army Breakouts

Bigred over at Bell of Lost Souls posted the following graphic about this past weekend's Adepticon 40k army breakout. (reference 1) He also posted a similar article last year. (reference 2) If you're reading this Bigred... thank you for your work. I didn't have any luck digging up the army breakouts from 2010. If anyone has 2010's numbers and or any previous years I would be interested in seeing them.

I am not a huge tournament guy. I wonder how often those who attend regular tournaments change armies they compete with. How many players change to the new flashy codex and how many are sticking to their chosen army waiting for an update? How many players do a "field as" army either for thematics or because again they feel their codex is too old to be competitive? -Wyrd

I've pulled these images from around the web. I found many of these images in multiple places and as such I am uncertain as to where they came from first. I claim no ownership, origin, etc. To the individual(s) who took the pictures... thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou.
